More money made from mobile ads on Android than on iOS for the first time ever

One from the primary methods app developers make income using their apps is produced by mobile advertising. This is especially true of apps that happen to be free to download and don’t contain any in-app purchases. For a long time many experts have conventional wisdom that app developers bring in more money on iOS than you are on Android. However things did start to change with regards to a year ago.

At the starting of 2014, we witnessed an alteration for mobile advertising: Android overtook iOS as being the top platform for traffic. In the world of mobile advertising, “traffic” means the amount of mobile ad impressions served.  Now each year on and Android dominates this market. Over 65 percent of most mobile ad impressions head over to Android devices, the industry huge growth through the 42.8 percent of Q1 2014. In comparison iOS devices bypass 22 percent with the ads, which 17 percent likely to iPhones along with the rest gonna iPads and iPods (i.e. models inside iPod Touch range).

However, although Android was getting good ads, the money made by developers had been higher on iOS. App developers receives a commission in several other ways depending on the mobile advertising platform and also the types of ads displayed with the app. Primarily the developers generate profits when a user taps upon an advert, otherwise there are some schemes the location where the developers gets money per 1000 ads shown.

"45.77 percent of mobile advertising revenue derives from Android, while 45.44 percent originates from iOS."

Until now the combination of the volume of taps and also the price paid by advertisers because of their adverts for being displayed meant iOS generated additional money for developers. But which includes changed. For the first time ever, Android is leading revenue generation, albeit by the hair’s breadth.

According to Opera Mediaworks, the advertising arm in the web browser maker, 45.77 percent of mobile advertising revenue originates from Android, while 45.44 percent emanates from iOS. It has derived these numbers by reviewing the own mobile advertising platform, nevertheless it more than likely reflects the entire trend in mobile advertising across all of the platforms.
